So you have probably heard of the Vampire Facial by now. It’s all the rage among Hollywood beauty enthusiast like Kim Kardashian looking for the latest anti aging remedy. Its great for fighting wrinkles, dark under eye circles, and to my surprise my amazing Physician Marsha, at ClearSkin Clinic in Dublin has told me that it will even help take away my annoying little Chicken Pox Scar on my cheek that I have had since I was 5 years old!
I have had treatments in cities all around the globe, from Microdermabrasion in LA, Laser Facials in NYC, to even the DermaRoller in London and I have to say ClearSkin Clinic in Dublin is a top notch place!
I arrived at ClearSkin Clinic and sat down with Marsha to discuss my skin regime, as well as my concerns and goals. Marsha and all the ClearSkin staff have been incredibly kind and informative on the different treatments they have to offer and what they felt would best suit my specific needs. For years I have tried to find a way to get rid of this pesky Chicken Pox Scar, but no Doctor or Dermatologist has found a way. Marsha is confident that the Vampire Facial will help eliminate the scar. It takes about 8 weeks to see the full results so I am going to have to be patient for another 7!
She has also started me on a new skin care product line called Perfectha that I have immediately fallen in love with. I noticed a different on the coloration of some scarring I have on my chin and overall brightness the day I began using it.

HOW DOES IT WORK?

It’s a procedure where the physician will draw two teaspoons of blood (yes it sounds crazy! Your own blood, hence the name) then, using a centrifuge, the physician isolates platelets from that blood all within about 10 minutes. The platelets are then injected into areas of the face to help new blood flow and increase collagen to rejuvenate the skin. These stem cells trick your skin in to thinking it has an injury so your body sends collagen to the areas to repair. What is amazing about this procedure is you are using your own “growth factors” or “stem cells” to produce your own collagen instead of using a filler like Botox or Juvederm! There are no knives or no artificial products used, so this is a safer option. I believe the key to keeping a youthful appearance is moderation, how many times have you seen someone who has overdone it with fillers like botox or had a botched facelift? This is the most natural, most effective procedure I have heard of when it comes to treating aging skin. To go the extra mile with this treatment you can always pair it with the Dermaroller. However I do advise, it can be quite a lot on your skin at one time.

WHAT ARE THE SIDE EFFECTS?
The recovery time is short for the Vampire Facial, immediately after I was pretty swollen and had very mild bruising around my eyelids. My boyfriend thought I got in a fight with someone. Haha, everyone reacts differently, some may not bruise or swell at all. The good thing is you are fine to wear makeup about two hours after if you end up bruising. I rested the rest of the evening and the next day I was fine to go to work. I was still a little puffy and slightly bruised on my eye lids (it could have passed for eye shadow. But I was able to easily cover it up and film my fashion spot for Irelands top Entertainment show Xpose. I was completely healed in about 3 days.
It takes about 8 weeks to see the full effect of the Vampire Facial and it lasts for about 2 years. So far I have noticed my under eye circles (something I was particularly self conscious about) have brightened, and the lines on my forehead are not as pronounced. Since the full results will not show for 8 weeks, I will have to have patience and I will keep you all updated on the results!
