In America we celebrate something called Groundhogs Day. Each year on Feb. 2nd a famous fat little groundhog named Phil comes out of his hole to predict whether or not spring is around the corner. This all depends on if he sees his shadow. Apparently this year, 2016 Phil saw no shadow. Woohoo! So that means spring is officially on its way!
Orange you glad? I know I certainly am! Especially now that I am living in a much colder climate than California. Typically shades of orange are not popular colors in the winter months and more common in Summer and fall. But I say it is never to early to bring shades of orange in to your wardrobe.
Why? Because the color orange radiates happiness and warmth. In color psychology orange is said to be rejuvenating, energizing, and encourages optimism. The smell of Orange literally awakens your senses. With that said, clearly orange is the perfect color to incorporate into your wardrobe during winter! Orange can literally subconsciously help you look forward to tackling the dull, cold, gloomy days.
I have also put together some outfit inspiration that will still keep you warm but very stylish in these winter months.
Each outfit I put together can easily carry you from day to night. I can imagine wearing this running important errands and be ready to go for an early dinner and drinks straight after work.
I am so inspired by beautiful shades of green since I have been in Ireland. I love this outfit because it is perfect for city life but it still looks professional, young, and chic. The gorgeous emerald green with the bright orange accents make the colors pop even more.
A sophisticated Splendid turtle neck tucked in to a gorgeous multicolored Lanvin skirt that is to die for, paired with a bright orange belt from Yoox, and leather slingback heels from Zara, city life is made easier when you have a backpack. Loeffler Randall bag is the perfect backpack for a modern day woman. To top off the look I added these beautiful green mirrored vintage sunglasses.
I absolutely love taking masculine looks and making them feminine. Ties, bow ties, and mens suits. Like this Tux body suit from Nasty Gal it is so sexy and can be worn out on the town or with thick black tights it could be worn during the day for work. Just like the emerald green, I love pairing orange with a royal vibrant blue. This gorgeous scarf is a Hermes classic, some sexy Christian Louboutin ankle boots, studded Kendra Scott Parker earnings, Akris Anouk leather chained clutch/ over the shoulder bag, some uber stylish white cat eyed sunglasses from Fendi, and a cool custom cell phone case from Casetify that literally says what a sexy boss babe you are.
I hope these looks will help you feel inspired to bring beautiful shades of orange in to your wardrobe!
